Style Spotlight : Six Black Businesses and Influencers to Follow

Today I'm highlighting six black businesses and influencers to follow. Some of them I've written about before here in my blog and some are new favorites that I am excited to share with you.  I am committed to amplifying black voices and will continue to embrace diversity in my brand and across my content channels. All of these businesses have an online presence and half of them have a physical brick and mortar location so you can experience in person!   COMMITMENT TO SUPPORTING BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES   Nyakio Beauty Products   When I do product reviews or discussions of my latest favorites, I endeavor to include products from female and/or minority owned businesses. Five Things to Try This Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day weekend! (from quarantine) Insert sad face emoji here. This holiday weekend will be different celebrations than in the past; smaller and more intimate but no less festive. I will be relaxing at home, hopefully playing some tennis with my family (tennis courts are back open in CA, yay!) and at some point heading to the beach to visit my parents (from the outside of their house since they're both immunocompromised). Hope you are hanging in there, staying healthy and finding joy in the small pleasures!  ...

Easter: An Occasion to Celebrate

This Sunday is Easter, and with the safer at home ordinance in place, admittedly this year's celebration will be nothing like those that have come before. Our little family of three will be marking the occasion with an Easter Egg hunt for 1 (our 8 year old), and FaceTime sessions with the grandparents in France and here in Los Angeles. I've rounded up some of my current favorite things that remind me that Spring is here!...

Valentines Day: Easy Tips and Tricks on How to Celebrate

Valentines Day is here, here are my favorite assortment of Valentines themed accessories and activities. Enjoy!    Gold Heart Barrette   New to my website, I've added these cute, affordable heart barrettes. I have very thick hair (the kind that breaks ponytail holders on the regular) and this fits in my hair and stays.  I like to wear it in a half up, half down hairstyle. But would also be cute, with a side part and on the side in front.       Heart Hoop Huggie Earrings   A whimsical spin on the huggie hoop style, these take ruby red crystals and punch it up a notch. Pair with a red lip and dazzle!   Heart Hoop Earrings ...

In the Mood for Halloween: My Fave Festive Fall Decor, Drinks, Nail Art and More!

I just love holidays, decorating for them and making the home look festive. Much to my husband's chagrin, I'm that person who on October 1st already has the decorations out. It's not his fault, he grew up in France where they don't celebrate Halloween.  So while he is always asking Why?....I answer why not? At least our son enjoys them as much as I do so now it's two against one 😝     Halloween Charcuterie Board by How We Live Find a festive fabric and drape across your table and then add a skeleton hand and scatter plastic spiders throughout your charcuterie board. Make sure to use seasonal ingredients like figs, carrots, apples, beets to get a lot of fall color...
