In the Mood for Halloween: My Fave Festive Fall Decor, Drinks, Nail Art and More!

I just love holidays, decorating for them and making the home look festive. Much to my husband's chagrin, I'm that person who on October 1st already has the decorations out. It's not his fault, he grew up in France where they don't celebrate Halloween.  So while he is always asking Why?....I answer why not? At least our son enjoys them as much as I do so now it's two against one 😝     Halloween Charcuterie Board by How We Live Find a festive fabric and drape across your table and then add a skeleton hand and scatter plastic spiders throughout your charcuterie board. Make sure to use seasonal ingredients like figs, carrots, apples, beets to get a lot of fall color...

October Birthstone: All About Opals!

October's birthstone is a good one...opals! My mother's birthday is in October so I grew up over her various opal pieces in her jewel box. Did you know...Opal is a hardened silica gel, usually containing 5-10% water? It is therefore noncrystalline, (unlike most other gemstones) and may eventually dry out and crack. That's why it's often recommended to keep opal in water when not in use.  Izzy Opal 3 Stone Stacking Ring, Stasya Opal 2 Stone Stacking Ring, Selda Mother of Pearl Rosette Ring  Chilton Opal C.Z. Style Watch: My Favorite Summer Swimsuits Under $50

Summer is in full swing and with Mexico and Mallorca on my summer travel plans I wanted to freshen up my beach wardrobe with some new swimsuits that wouldn't break the bank. I've bought expensive bathing suits in the past and personally haven't found them to be that much better than the ones I buy at Gap or Target. I've purchased these bathing suits myself and found them to be good quality and held up after washing. I recommend hand wash and drying on the line for lifetime wear, I find that when I put them in the washing machine the lining will bunch up in the chest area. All of these suits are under $40 and most under $30! So if...

Happy Pride Month!

It's June and I bet you've been seeing rainbows all over the place. Pride month is a colorful reminder to be more accepting and inclusive to all of the unique traits that make us all so different and special. I was impressed that my local Target had a whole pride section right when you walked in the door. I live in liberal California but I remember not so far back in 2008 when Prop 8 passed eliminating same sex marriage. Thankfully it has since been overturned but that was only eleven years ago. Mainstream society has come along way in recognizing LGBTQ rights but there is still a long way to go.  Rainbow Baguette Necklace  - Vermeil Pride stands for the positive stance against discrimination...

Stress Free Mother's Day Guide

Mother's Day is almost upon us, and I'm looking forward to doing it easy and relaxed this year. It's been non stop go with work and school and sports schedules and I'm looking forward to keeping things simple. Here are a few things that I'm in obsessed with lately, hope you enjoy!   I spotted my good friend Julia wearing these, raving about how comfortable they are. I walk a lot - gotta keep up my 10,000 steps a day! So comfort and style are key and it's often hard to find both. I like that unlike most flats they have a sturdy sole and a solid construction. Plus, they're ethically made in Peru so you can feel good about your...
